You may add a feed to google reader by clicking Add Subscription and pasting the address. You can also find and add a feed via googles directory. You may add feeds to your reader by clicking the orange with the white signal icon and adding to whichever rss feed you'd like. An RSS reader is better than going to each site individually because it posts each websites updates in a single place making it more efficient and quicker to sort through everything. Although the disadvantage to the RSS reader is that it is a fairly new application and is therefore not readily available on a majority of sites.
In today's world where there are more and more websites which are regularly visited it can be very useful to have a tool like the RSS reader to save time to focusing on the more essential things instead of visiting every site. It may also be more critical to have an RSS reader due to the increasing dependency on the internet in business.
The advantage that internet based RSS readers such as that from google have on desktop RSS readers is that internet based RSS readers are avaliable from any computer as long as it has internet access. Another reason why internet based RSS readers is that no files have to be downloaded onto your computer which can save space if you are low as well as prevent any spamware or viruses to be downloade.

Twitter is a social networking website which allows you to follow and read posts by anyone. Twitter is reminiscent of early day self publishing news papers but on a digital scale but in my opinion is it completely unnecessary to be updated so often. It is different from blogging in that you are only able to post a 140 character status update or a snippet instead of an article.

Blogger is a program which allows you to create your own blog which can be used to deliver information or make announcements to anybody which may be following your page. Widgets and gadgets can be added to the page to add features such as polls, pictures, videos or slide shows.
Other blogs of people such as artists or authors create blogs to update people and inform them of upcoming book signings and perhaps thoughts and ideas concerning criticism they receive. Blogger can also be used effectively by a business to notify customers or business partners of changes in their products. Blogs are also commonly used to simply post interesting videos, news, or music for other people who are following them.
Blogging compared to the traditional formats of newspaper and magazine is much easier and faster. It can be done from the comfort of your home and also helps save recources as it does not require extra material. Although blogging is only avaliable to those who own a computer and have internet access.
